The Problem
Organizations that handle chemicals are required to maintain accurate and compliant Safety Data Sheets (SDS) in order to meet strict regulatory standards across U.S. and EU jurisdictions. However, SDS documents vary widely in format, completeness, and clarity, making manual review slow, inconsistent, and prone to human error. Compliance teams often struggle to identify missing information, assess regulatory risks, and stay up to date with evolving guidelines such as Prop 65, OSHA, and REACH. This leads to operational inefficiencies, increased compliance risk, and costly delays in bringing products to market.
The Solution
The Sheetcheck system is designed to provide risk analysis and answer regulatory questions using AI for SDSs that fall under the US/EU jurisdictions. The system uses Prop 65, OSHA, and REACH guidelines to reach determinations about the level of risk each SDS poses and which areas of the SDS need review. Once an SDS risk report is generated, a user can see the SDS review, compliance summary, number of gaps in the SDS, areas to review in the SDS, and the overall risk score for the SDS (Low, Medium, or High).
